Ring!

A couple of weeks ago we found the perfect wedding ring for Abby. It is a 1/4ct wrap. I keep having to tell Abby she can't wear it! :-)

Photographer Confirmed!

We have found a photographer through a recommendation of a recently married friend at work. That's a big piece of the wedding planning out of the way! Invitations are designed and ready to be printed. Next on the agenda is flowers, engagment photos and party favors. We are way ahead of schedule, its great!

Our next step is to find a photographer. Does anyone have any experience with any photographers in the area? Any reviews would be appreciated!

May 22, 2010 hall confirmed

May 22, 2010 -- A day that will live in infamy -- and not in the Franklin D. Roosevelt "we're going to war sort" of way. We have confirmed with the church that we are a go for May 22, 2010. I called the hall during lunch. Abby has Friday off. They said we could come on Friday, as there is a wedding going on outside at the golf course, and then a reception in our room, so we can take a peak and see how it will look setup. We are official, May 22nd, 2010, clear your calanders!

Church

Today Abby and I met with the priest of St. Vincent De Paul church. We had an informal meeting for about an hour discussing marriage and a little bit about ourselves. He was quite interesting to talk to. We spent most of the time talking about our upbringing and how we met etc and touched on some philosophy about marriage and society. He'd like to meet up with us approx. once a month for a little bit after work when we can. The good news is, they do have May 22, 2010 open, so we are going to make the deposit this week on the hall as long as they still have that date open! We emailed the director of Swan Valley and should hear tomorrow if we are solid on our date.

Swan Valley?

So far we're strongly leaning towards Swan Valley in Saginaw as our reception place. They handle almost everything, which will definatly make things a little bit easier!

Much to report on the first post! To catch everyone up, we have a free wedding cake lined up, cheap DJ we know from work and a possible reception location. We have a meeting at St. Vincent De Paul on Tuesday June 2nd to find out available dates for the church. We still haven't started on a Photographer, wedding dress, rings or invitations.
